Dr. Linda Wilson

Dr. Linda Laura Niece Richardson Wilson, daughter of the late Bob Richardson and PattieMae Solomon Richardson is the sixth of eighteen children and a native of Franklin County, North Carolina. Linda graduated from Gold Sand High in Franklin County, North Carolina. After graduation, she entered North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCA&T), graduating in 1975, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Her career as a nurse began at the historic, L. Richardson Memorial Hospital, one of the first African American operated hospitals in the country, serving for over ten years, then secured the role of supervisor in Obstetrical and Gynecological Nursing. 

Dr. Wilson completed a Master of Science degree in Guidance and Counseling in from NCA&T State University in 1984. Linda became the first full-time Director of Student Health Services at NCA&T State University in 1985. During her tenure as Health Center Director, Linda was instrumental in transitioning the center from an infirmary to a Health and Wellness Center. On leave from the Health Center, for one year, she served as the Interim Director of Alumni Affairs and later served a year as the Senior Women Administrator in Athletics. Linda returned to her love of health services working until 2013 when she retired. She completed the Leadership Studies Ph.D. program at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2018.
